Hatta Heritage Village
Restored 16th Century village located in the Hajjar mountains. Visitors can see watchtowers, a mosque, traditional houses made from stone and mud, and Hatta Fort. Open Saturday to Thursday 08:00-20:00 and Friday 14:00-20:00. Ramadan hours may vary.
Al Ahmadiya School & Heritage House
The first regular school in Dubai, built in 1912, was converted to a museum in 1995. Parts of the building date back to 1890s and showcases traditional architecture. Open Saturday to Thursday 08:30-20:30, Friday 14:00-20:30. Located in Al Ras (Deira).
Weekly tours organised by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. Tour includes an open forum discussion about Arab and Emirati life, history, culture and religion. Located opposite Palm Strip Mall on Jumeirah Beach Road in Jumeirah 1.
Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary
A protected natural habitat for more than 60 species of birds and 300 species of flora and fauna. Entry is free, permits required. Open Saturday to Thursday 09:00-16:00. Located between Oud Metha/Ras Al Khor Road (E 44) and Dubai-Al Ain Road (E 66).
Heritage & Diving Village
Demonstrations of traditional craft and pottery making and exhibits showing aspects of Dubais maritime history. Free entry. Open Saturday to Thursday 08:30-22:00 and Friday 15:30-22:00. Hours during Ramadan may vary. Located in the Al Shindagha area.
